Viral video... Atlas lionesses carrying bricks! what's the story?

Moroccan Atlas Amendar village women carrying  bricks

Dozens of women from the Atlas in deep Morocco appeared in a video clip carrying bricks on their backs and shoulders for the purpose of building a mosque in a remote village between the Atlas mountain in Morocco.

This clip spread widely on social media and was widely praised by Moroccan and Arab audiences.

The video, circulating on various social media platforms, shows a group of Moroccan women walking in a collective procession carrying bricks intended for building a mosque in the Amazigh village of Amendar, on the outskirts of Marrakesh.

Women of all ages carried brick shipments up the mountain because of the difficulty of trucks reaching the area, which is known for its rugged roads.

A few days ago, Moroccan content creator Amin Emnir shared a video clip on his YouTube channel, where he documented the process of women transporting bricks to build a mosque in a remote village, with the contribution of a philanthropist.

According to Amin, this initiative took place in good conditions and was well received by everyone, during which the spirit of teamwork and challenge prevailed.

The Moroccan YouTuber described the women as real lionesses of Atlas, who are not talked about by the press and are not talked about by parliamentarians and women's rights organizations.

This process came spontaneously and smoothly on the part of the villagers, in their desire to contribute to the construction of the mosque, where the tasks were divided between men, women, and children as well.

More than 100 women of different ages volunteered to carry bricks on their backs and shoulders at a distance of about 300 meters from the place of transportation of building materials to the place of construction of the mosque.

It is known in Morocco that residents of villages and remote areas do voluntary work to build mosques,  and gather in a public place in the village to celebrate events and holidays in joys and even in sorrows.

Residents of remote villages in Morocco, despite the difficult conditions they live in, are keen to contribute voluntarily to this type of charitable initiative.

Despite their tough Circumstances village residents are so kind and generous. (I was born in a village by the way.)

The residents of the village, including the women, did not hesitate to lend a hand to the supervisors of this initiative in order to transport building materials to the place where the mosque will be built, despite the rugged road that characterizes the area.

It should be noted that rural women play a major role in remote areas and perform a range of difficult tasks and jobs, whether inside or outside the house in the fields.

We also point out that the YouTuber who filmed the scene has an association and works on charitable projects in Morocco through his YouTube channel and his Facebook page, and he previously distributed 150 sheep last Eid al-Adha with the help of benefactors.

As temperatures rise, Moroccans naturally adapt their routines, shifting much of their activity into the cooler hours of the evening when families and friends fill the streets, cafés, and seaside promenades. In coastal cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, and Tangier, the Atlantic breeze softens the summer atmosphere, turning the evenings into lively social occasions. Families stroll along the corniche, children play near the water, and young people gather in open cafés where mint tea and fresh juices remain essential companions to conversation. This nightly migration toward public spaces is one of the most distinctive features of Moroccan summer life. In Marrakech, Fez, and the historic towns of the interior, the story takes a different turn. The heat of the day pushes life into the shaded alleys of the...
