The result of the elections was an unexpected surprise and a major shock to the Islamic Party and most researchers and observers of political affairs in Morocco.

The Justice and Development Party will have to go to the opposition in the Moroccan parliament, while the features of the new government are not yet clear, or the parties that will oppose in the House of Representatives.

Observers believe that these disappointing results for the Justice and Development Party were due to divisions within the party and its retraction of many gains, as well as the voting of more than two million voters who were boycotting the elections.
