Islamists defeat.. shocking results of legislative elections in Morocco .. + (ranking)

A statement from party members after the defeat

The Moroccan Ministry of Interior announced , that the "National Rally of Independents" party topped the legislative elections, with 102 seats, followed by the "Authenticity and Modernity" party with 86 seats, in provisional results so far.

The Authenticity and Modernity Party (the opposition) won 86 seats, while the Istiqlal Party (the opposition) won 81 seats, while the Justice and Development Party fell to the eighth place and got only 13 seats.

As for the Socialist Union of Popular Forces, it benefited from the new electoral division and increased the number of its seats to 35 seats, then the Popular Movement Party (participating in the government) got 29 seats, while the Progress and Socialism Party got 21 seats, followed by the Constitutional Union Party with 18 seats.

And the rest of the other political parties got only 10 seats.

The result of the elections was an unexpected surprise and a major shock to the Islamic Party and most researchers and observers of political affairs in Morocco.

The Justice and Development Party will have to go to the opposition in the Moroccan parliament, while the features of the new government are not yet clear, or the parties that will oppose in the House of Representatives.

Observers believe that these disappointing results for the Justice and Development Party were due to divisions within the party and its retraction of many gains, as well as the voting of more than two million voters who were boycotting the elections. Nor did he benefit from the digital revolution that his opponent, the Pigeon Party, greatly benefited from.

Also, the party, by passing many unfair laws and its silence on many rights setbacks, therfore   voters’ punish it he  election day .

So  the question is : When will the  pjd wake up again, or is it the end?

Ranking of the winning parties and the number of seats

∙ National Rally of Independents 102 seats

∙ Authenticity and Modernity Party 86 seats

∙ Independence Party 81 seats

∙ Socialist Union of Popular Forces 35 seats

∙ Popular Movement Party 29 seats

∙ Party of Progress and Socialism 23 seats

∙ Constitutional Union Party 18 seats

∙ pjd 13 seats

∙ Other political parties 10 seats
